Sevenoaks Young Musicians - 3:00 pm, Sunday 11th December 2011
This concert will feature two of the prizewinners from the 2011 Sevenoaks Young Musician of the Year competition, which took place on13th March.
Pianist Daniel Evans is a music scholar at Wells Cathedral School, where he studies composition (and plays rugby and cricket!) as well as piano. He has performed in China, and at Cadogan Hall in London. For his Sevenoaks Music club recital in the Ship Theatre his programme will feature two of his own compositions as well as music by three older masters of the keyboard:
- Scarlatti: Sonata A Major K24/L 49S/p.80
- Brahms: Intermezzo in B Minor op 119
- Daniel Evans: Appearances
- Daniel Evans: Macbeth
- Liszt: Funerailles, S173 No 7
Born in South Korea, Eunsley Park studied at the
Yehudi Menuhin School, and is currently at the Royal College of Music. She has performed at Wigmore Hall and St John's Smith Square, and among her successes is Tunbridge Wells International Young Artists' Competition.
Eunsley will open her programme with one of the six solo sonatas Ysaye wrote in homage to Bach, and follow this with Debussy's last work, in which she will be accompanied by pianist Lynn Kang. After this, some fireworks from the pen of Wieniawski to conclude:
