One of Britain's most talented young quartets, formed at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2007, the Benyounes Quartet has appeared in recitals for music societies and festivals across Europe. They have participated in the Verbier Festival in Switzerland, Aix-en-Provence Festival in France, and the Aldeburgh Festival. In 2011 they were invited to Dartington Summer Music as string quartet in residence, and gave recitals at West Cork Chamber Music Festival and Bellerive Festival in Switzerland.
Recently chosen as Park Lane Group Young Artists, the quartet gave their Purcell Room debut in January 2012.
Their programme this evening includes the quartet by Janacek which was inspired by Tolstoy's novel The Kreutzer Sonata.
This concert will be performed in memory of Frank Marshall, past Chairman of the Club and recent Vice-President.
