“Britain’s favourite clarinetist” (The Times) will also be returning to our concert platform, (for the third time), on this occasion with one of the finest young quartets to emerge in recent years. They will open the concert with Schubert’s very popular single
quartet movement, a&er which they will be joined by Emma to play the wonderful quintet by Johannes Brahms, one of four clarinet works writ+en after he had supposedly stopped composing. This will be followed by another single-movement work, written in 1919 by Herbert Howells. The concert will end with the most famous of all clarinet quintets.
- Schubert: Quartettsatz
- Brahms: Quintet in B minor Op.115
- Howells: Rhapsodic Quintet
- Mozart: Quintet in A, K581
