Ruisi String Quartet
16th October 2021, 19:30 - 21:30

Winners of the Royal Philharmonic Society award for Young British String Players, the critically acclaimed Ruisi Quartet has established a reputation as a charismatic and expressive young ensemble that is emerging as one of the leading British string quartets of its generation.
Reflecting the Quartet's interesting approach, their concert embraces music spanning almost four centuries. You will not hear many string quartets opening a concert with music by Purcell. The Ruisi Quartet will also play a work by Stravinsky and the first of Haydn's quartets to be set in a minor key. They will finish the concert with the first of Beethoven's "Rasumovsky" quartets. Programme:
- Purcell: Three Fantasias
- Stravinsky: Three pieces
- Haydn: Quartet in D minor, Op 9 No 4
- Beethoven: Quartet in F, Op 59 No 1
