Spiritato Baroque
22nd February 2025, 19:30
Spiritato is a period instrument ensemble with a love for little-known composers. As individuals, they can be found performing with specialist ensembles throughout the UK and Europe, including the Academy of Ancient Music, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Les Talens Lyriques and the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique. They will bring to Sevenoaks a very varied programme, including part of Scheidt’s dance suite, Ludi Musici, Pachelbel’s Ciaccona, Prelude and Fugue XVI from book II of Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, and a trio sonata by Buxtehude. True to their declared interest, Spiritato will also entertain us with works by composers who may be new to you, unless you are a Baroque specialist, such as Thieme, Fischer and Krieger.
