2021-22 Season, Sevenoaks Music Club

Following our very successful concerts in May and July, we are returning to a full season of concerts starting again in September 2021. We have an interesting series of programmes for various ensembles, many  featuring talented young players who are gaining reputations as performers.

With its large and rich repertoire, the string quartet features strongly in our programming, and for this season we have three quartets: the Ruisi Quartet, playing Haydn, Stravinsky and Beethoven (plus an arrangement of three viol fantasies by Purcell); the Barbican Quartet, playing Haydn, Bartok and one of Beethoven's last quartets; and the Tippett Quartet, playing Mendelssohn and, with the pianist, Emma Abbate, they will play piano quintets by Schumann and by the English composer, Stephen Dodgson.

Piano trios are popular with our audience and for this season we have the Mithras Trio, which will play works from the core repertoire by Haydn, Brahms and Schubert. We also have a piano recital by Leon McCawley, whose programme includes Mozart's Fantasie in C minor and one of Schubert's late piano sonatas.

We also have a song recital by an exceptional young tenor, Nick Prichard, who, with the pianist Ian Tindale, will give a performance of Schubert's Die schöne Müllerin.

We are hoping to be back in the Ship Theatre for these concerts, subject to any Covid regulations still applying.
